Dr. Madan Gopal Singh, Reader in the
department of English participated in the Bonn Biennale,
2006 and appeared as the main chorus in two performances of
Agra Bazar directed by Habib Tanvir. He designed the
inaugural curtain raiser at World Book Fair held in
Frankfurt in October 2006. He was invited to present a
package of Indian Films at Imagem dos povos, Auro Preto,
Brazil in November 2006. He was also invited to participate
in the concluding programme of the Festival of India at
Brussels in January 2007. Currently he is a member of
several committees of Indian Council of Cultural Relations
including its Finance and Empanelment Committee. He is also
President of India nominee at Mahatma Gandhi Antarashtriya
Hindi Vishwavidhyalay, Wardha. Dr. Madan Gopal has also
presented a paper titled "Arrival and its postage" at the
International Conference on "Travel Literature and India"
held in our college on 20,21 February 2007.
Dr. Shashi Khurana, Reader in the
Department of English presented a paper titled "Colonial
journeys, gender and fiction" at the International
Conference on "Travel Literature and India" held in our
college on 20-21 February 2007. She was also involved in
writing features for English Talks, All India Radio.
Dr. Dwarika Prasad, Reader in the
Department of Hindi, launched a new literary journal,
'Anbhay Sancha' in Hindi, Five issues of which have been
edited and published by him. He also delivered a lecture on
Hindi Language Present and future in a national seminar
organised by NHPC, Govt. of India on 6th December, 2006. In
this academic session he delivered lectures and recited his
poems at the Jamia Milia Islimia and in different colleges
of Delhi University, like Hindu Collge, Kirorimal College,
A.R.S.D. College and College of Vocational
Studies.
Dr. Sadhana Arya, Reader in the
Department of Political Science edited a book on Gender,
Poverty and Migration (2006) jointly with Dr. Anupama Roy
published by Sage Publications. She presented a paper "Voices
of Internally Displaced : Some Case Studies" in an
International Workshop on "Forced Migration" organised by
The Academy of Third World Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia
from 18 to 22 Sept. 2006. She also presented a paper on
"Gender and Public Policy" in a National Seminar organised
by Laxmibai College on Gender, Justice : Issues and
Challenges in December 2006. Dr. Arya participated in a
seminar organised by Centre for Political Studies, JNU on
"Political Institutions in India : Critical Prespective held
on 18th Janaury 2007 and presented a paper titled "State
Based Institutions for Gender Equality and Justice: The
National Commission for Women".
Dr. Vibha Garg, Senior Lecturer in the
Department of Commerce presented a paper on "India as a
Destination For Global Sourcing" in National Seminar on
Advantage India, held in Dec. 2006 and organised by the
Department of Business Administration, Mohan Lal Sukhadia
University, Udaipur, Rajasthan.
Dr. Rajiv Kumar Verma, Reader, History
Department attended the Sixth Annual Conference of Indian
Society for Buddhist Studies, held at Department of Chinese
and Tibetan Studies, Punjab University, Chandigarh from 7th
to 9th September 2006. He presented a paper entitled
"Buddhist Ethics and Capitalism in South Asia in the Age of
Globalisation". He also chaired one session of the
conference. He also presented a paper entitled "A Tale of
Two India" in the International Conference on Travel
Literature and India, organised by Satyawati College (Eve.)
on 20-21 February,2007. He was also elected to the Academic
Council of Delhi University and nominated member of Standing
Committee on Academic Affairs and committee on Arts Faculty.
Dr. Anamika, Reader in the Dept. of
English has brought out many publications such as
"Tinka Tinke Pas", a novel published by Rajkamal
Prakashan, a book on the technique of translation,
Translectonics and les murrey, Bhartiya Stree Kavita, An
Anthology published by Sahitya Academy, a collection of
essays, Mun Manjne Ki Zaroorat and a poetry
collection Doob Dhan, published from Bhartiya
Gnanpeeth. She also presented a paper titled Pandita Rama
Bai : Aurora Leig in a White Sari" at the
International Conference on Travel Literature and India,
organised by Satyawati College (Eve.) on 20-21
February,2007.
Ms. Tulika Prasad, Lecturer in Reader's
Grade presented a paper titled "Travelling on the language
trail" at the International Conference on "Travel Literature
and India" held in our college on 20-21 February 2007. She
has also attended a five-day workshop on Interactive English
Language teaching conducted by Diane Harley at Bharati
College. She was a resource person for a one day orientation
programme for Post-Graduate Teachers of English of
government school under the Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan programme.
Dr. Mayank Kumar contributed an article
‘Ecology and Traditional Systems of Water Management:
Revisiting Medieval Rajasthan’, in Ed. Mahesh Rangarajan,
Environmental Issues in India, Pearson, New Delhi, 2006
which has been recommended as reading for B.A. Honours
Concurrent Course. He also authored reading material for
B.A. Programme curse Social Enquiry as well. He has
presented a research paper ‘Water, state and Society in
Pre-Colonial Rajasthan’, at Nature in the Raj: Colonial
Environments and Indigenous Knowledge an International
Workshop jointly organised by Centre for World Environmental
History, Sussex University, and Nehru Memorial Museum and
Library, New Delhi, 2006. He also presented several research
papers at National Seminars and acted as Resource person for
Refresher Course at University of Delhi and University of
Rajasthan.
Mr. Rameshwer Singh, Lecturer in Reader's
Grade presented a paper " Amphitheatre of the Hills: Jim
Corbett's Encounter with the Wild India" at the
International Conference on "Travel Literature and India"
held in our college on 20-21 February 2007.
Ms. Nivedita Misra, Lecturer in Senior Scale was the
Organising Secretary of the International Conference on
"Travel Literature and India" held in our college on 20-21
February, 2007 also presented a paper titled "Trail of the
woman traveller" at the conference.
