ENGLISH Society

The English Literary Society under the guidance of Mr. Antaryami Naik, teacher-in-charge of the English Department, Ms. Tulika Prasad and Ms. Anubha Anushree

A debate on the topic “Student Politics is helpful for the education system” was organized by the society. The society also organized a paper reading competition for the students of B.A(Hons) English.

Other academic activities of the society included film screenings for related texts of English honours course. Anjali Dabas of B.A(Hons) IInd year won the prestigious Vijay Sushma Memorial Scholarship for the girl student.

Language Proficiency Course :

Our College has continously endeavoured to assess and fulfill the needs of the students. In this direction, it introduced a language proficiency course in English for undergraduate students of the University. The course is funded by the Institute of Life Long Learning, University of Delhi and aims at improving the language proficiency of the students in addition to honing their communication skills, thereby improving their access to better employment opportunities. Presently, the course has been introduced as a pilot project and is being taught free of charge to the students. Certificates would be awarded to the students on the successful completion of the course. The course is being conducted by Dr. Shashi Khurana and Ms. Tulika Prasad, teachers in the department of English of this college.
